We’ve also created implementation accelerator solutions which combine all the elements of planning, training, mentoring and implementation into a set of deliverables that can be implemented quickly. LoadRunner Accelerator

Request Consultation

Planning

Implementation planning involves assessment of the testing and application environment. Based on the application(s) to be tested, the team develops a project plan for setup and configuration, user training and implementation of LoadRunner scripts for the engagement. Consideration is given to access requirements, configuration and settings of the controller and related monitors, locations of assets and integration to Quality Center. Specific use cases are identified for custom training and mentoring purposes.

Setup

Setup involves installation or migration of LoadRunner and components for the target environment. Based on the assessment of the application(s) to be tested, our consultant will assist in the configuration and verification of server monitors, add-ins and diagnostics.

Training And Mentoring

Onsite training covers the essential concepts and techniques for using LoadRunner to identify and fix performance bottlenecks. Based on the planning sessions, course agendas are adjusted to also look at examples from the customer`s application for training and mentoring purposes.

During mentoring a sample use case and testing scenario are constructed against the target application using all of the techniques taught in training, with special attention to application-specific scripting requirements. The group will plan and execute a load test and examine run-time operation of LoadRunner, followed by analysis and report configuration.

Scripting And Execution

For clients that must met project deadlines, where more emphasis is placed on meeting a testing deadline, our consultant will lead the construction of load test scripts and scenario execution. Users will have an opportunity to review the results of scripting to understand their construction and design.

For clients who want more emphasis on user-driven scripting, or without an imminent deadline, our consultant will provide advice and guidance during the scripting process and test execution while letting users drive the development process.

Hand Off

Hand Off A hand-off session will review the results of the implementation accelerator project, the progress made with LoadRunner and action items for deployment. The team will review the scripts created, scenario results and analysis, and discuss any remaining technique- or script-related topics.


Quality Center Accelerator

Planning

Implementation planning involves assessment of the current testing processes and their mapping to Quality Center. Based on the assessment, the team develops a project plan for setup and configuration, user training and tasks for the engagement. Consideration is given to Quality Center integrations, customization requirements and workflow scripting. A portion of the test plan is identified for custom training and mentoring purposes.

Planning also assesses the current state of data, reporting requirements and desired workflow and sets the stage for the short-term and long-term implementation of Quality Center.

Setup

Setup involves installation or migration of Quality Center and its related components. First Contact will assist with configuration and installation of the software and related integrations.

Based on the planning assessment, some initial customization such as field layouts and workflows may be done to prepare the application for end-user training.

Customization

If significant enhancements or customizations are planned for Quality Center, they will be implemented ahead of (or parallel to) training and mentoring.

Examples of customizations needed before training include customizations for field setup and dependencies, approval management, layouts and data hiding by role. With those customizations in place, the basic training agenda and content can be adjusted to suit the specific implementation of Quality Center in the QA environment.

Examples of customizations that may be built after training include reports, advanced workflows and custom synchronizers.

Training And Mentoring

Onsite training covers the essential concepts and workflows for using Quality Center manage the testing process. Based on the planning sessions and customizations, course agendas may be adjusted.

During mentoring, First Contact will work with Quality Center administrators and users in order to make sure they are familiar with the operation of the solution and become self-sufficient.

Implementation

Clients may choose to have First Contact implement a specific set of tests for the engagement, or have First Contact continue with mentoring and assist their staff as they begin using Quality Center. In the first approach, our consultants will lead the implementation of tests to provide a turn-key solution.

For clients who want more emphasis on mentoring, or without an imminent deadline, our consultant will provide mentoring advice and guidance during the test development process

A hand-off session will review the results of the implementation accelerator project, the progress made with Quality Center and action items for deployment. The team will review the Quality Center architecture and test plans and results created, test results and reporting, and discuss any remaining technique- or workflow-related topics.


QuickTest Professional Accelerator

Consideration is given to floating license controllers, Quality Center integration, add-in requirements and custom application objects requiring special scripting. Specific use cases are identified for custom training and mentoring purposes.

Planning may also involve examining the test plans in order to begin developing the test automation framework.

Setup

Setup involves installation or migration of QuickTest Professional and its components for the target environment. Based on the assessment of the application(s) to be tested, our consultant will assist with any unique configuration settings required for using QuickTest Professional for scripting. Examples could including floating license server configuration, add-ins and integrations and locations of configuration files and templates.

Training And Mentoring

Onsite training covers the essential concepts and techniques for using QuickTest Professional to automate manual tests. Based on the planning sessions, course agendas are adjusted to also look at examples from the customer`s application for training and mentoring purposes.

During mentoring a sample set of tests are used to implement the test framework, scripts and utilities. The framework is then used to carry out examples of scripting and test execution whether stand-alone or in conjunction with Quality Center.

Scripting And Execution

Clients may choose to have First Contact implement a specific set of tests for the engagement, or have First Contact continue with mentoring and assist their staff as they begin scripting and implementing QuickTest Professional.

In the first approach, our consultants will lead the implementation of tests and create necessary utilities and libraries to provide turn-key test automation. Our consultants will then review the script construction, design choices and execution of the test suite whether standalone or in conjunction with Quality Center.

For clients who want more emphasis on user-driven scripting, or without an imminent deadline, our consultant will provide mentoring advice and guidance during the scripting process and test execution while letting users drive the development process
